The Supreme Court axed Anurag Thakur, the Board of Control for Cricket in India president, and Ajay Shirke, the secretary, from their respective posts with immediate effect after the final hearing in New Delhi on Monday (January 2).

A committee of administrators to be appointed on January 19 will oversee and supervise the BCCI. The names of prospective candidates have been sought from Gopal Subramanium, the amicus curiae, and Fali S Nariman.
