After India closed out a hard-fought One-Day International series against New Zealand in Kanpur and Pakistan swept Sri Lanka aside in Lahore, the two winning teams were celebrated on Twitter on Monday (October 30).

But the untimely passing of MV ‘Doc’ Sridhar, the former Hyderabad cricketer and BCCI official, cast a shadow over the Indian cricket community.

Back on field, and India haven’t been tested quite as hard in recent times as they were by New Zealand, and that’s why the 2-1 win was sweeter.

And then it was party time!

New Zealand may have missed out by a bit – just six runs – but they had reason to hold their heads up high.

Across in Lahore, Pakistan celebrated the homecoming of international cricket with a win.

Which also meant Shoaib Malik could ride back home quickly.

From the Indian point of view, there was more cause to cheer as Srikanth Kidambi added another Super Series title to his kitty.

Away in South Africa, David Miller turned it on big time on Sunday too.

Away from the action, R Ashwin was having a great time at home.

Few know how to relax like Kevin Pietersen, though.

Goals!
