Kolkata, Nagpur and Delhi have been named as the venues for the three Test matches during Sri Lanka’s packed three-format tour of India in November-December, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Tuesday (October 3).
The tour will get underway with a three-day warm-up fixture starting November 11 in Kolkata against a yet-to-be-announced opposition. The Test series will begin on November 16 in the same city, before moving to Nagpur (November 24-28) and Delhi (December 2-6).
The three-match One-Day International series will start at the end of the Test series in Dharamsala on December 10, followed by fixtures in Mohali and Visakhapatnam. The three Twenty20 Internationals will be played in Cuttack, Indore and Mumbai.
Sri Lanka are currently involved in a series of two Tests – the first of which they won narrowly on Monday, five ODIs and three T20Is against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates. That tour gets over on October 29 with the final T20I to be played in Lahore.
India, meanwhile, take on Australia in the T20I leg of their limited-overs series of exchanges at home on October 7, October 10 and October 13 and then, after a short break, play a series of three ODIs and three T20Is against New Zealand, also at home, the final game of which is slotted for November 7.
India and Sri Lanka faced off very recently when India went across to the Emerald Isle, and ended up sweeping the nine-match series with a 3-0 win in the Tests, a 5-0 win in the ODIs, and a win in the lone T20I.
