Toss: Upul Tharanga, the Sri Lanka captain, won the toss and opted to bat against Pakistan in the fifth and final One-Day International in Sharjah on Monday (October 23).

Series: Pakistan are 4-0 up in the series and will look to complete a whitewash after losing the Test rubber 0-2. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are once again staring down the barrel, having already been swept 0-5 twice this year, first on their tour to South Africa and more recently, at home against India.

Conditions: The pitch will have something both for batsmen as well as for bowlers. The temperature is expected to hover around mid-30 degrees during the afternoon.
