    Profile

Glen Maxwell is a multi-skilled cricketer from Victoria who first shot to fame when he hit a 27-ball 61 after coming in at 157 for 6 to help Victoria to a one-wicket win over Tasmania. Maxwell had come in at 157 for 6 with 102 needed to win off 55 deliveries, and the half-century he hit off 19 balls was the fastest in Australia’s domestic one-day history. He carried that form into first-class cricket and ended the 2010-11 Sheffield Shield season with an average of 75.75. Maxwell was part of the Emerging Players tournament and impressed the Delhi Daredevils with his batting (his strike-rate for the Twenty20s was 222.4 and he topped the run-charts). That led to an IPL contract with them and also led TA Sekar to remark, “When we watched him bat, we were reminded of how we had spotted David Warner in 2008.”
