Group B: Rasool, Aziz spin J&K to first win
Duo picks up five wickets each to send Jharkhand packing for 243 to deliver a 106-run win
In the opportunities Harshal Patel has had in the Indian Premier League, he comes across as a medium pacer who doesn’t really do too much with the ball, keeps it wicket-to-wicket and picks up a wicket or two once in a way. In more helpful conditions, as the Ranji Trophy dishes up once in a way, Harshal pulls out his huge outswinger – a delivery that’s paid him rich dividends over the years. Harshal first came into the limelight when he picked 23 wickets in the 2008-09 Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The debut for Gujarat came the next season, and then a spot in the Under-19 World Cup team for the 2010 World Cup. In the domestic circuit, Harshal has moved to Haryana after being ignored by Gujarat and was the star in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy, picking eight wickets apiece in the quarterfinal and semifinal against Karnataka and eventual champions Rajasthan.
