Group D: Blistering Dhoni ton gets Jharkhand off the mark
Skipper’s first List A ton for his state downs Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Hyderabad make it two in two
A compact batsman who is fast growing into one of the mainstays of the Hyderabad Ranji Trophy unit, Akshath Reddy has been earmarked for bigger things by several of his junior coaches. Reddy first came into the limelight in 2010 when he was part of the Indian Under-19 team that played the World Cup in New Zealand. However, he was not picked in the playing eleven while India were still in the competition and could not press his case. Since then, however, his graph has risen steadily, centuries in consecutive first-class matches against Assam, Goa and Jammu & Kashmir being the highlight of the 2010-11 Ranji season. A natural fit for the Deccan Chargers, Reddy was signed on in 2012.
