Pujara, Snell put Gujarat to sword
Twin hundreds bolster J&K against Jharkhand, while Rajasthan pacers leave Haryana in a shambles
A tall, lanky pace bowler from Uttar Pradesh, Pankaj Singh made his first-class debut with Rajasthan against the Services in the 2004-05 Ranji Trophy. A superlative 2006-07 season, taking 21 wickets, helped his team reach the final of the Ranji Plate League. He became a regular inclusion in the India A-team following his consistent bowling. His good run of form with the India A-team was rewarded with a call-up to the Indian squad to tour Australia in 2007 after injuries to the regular bowlers. It was only three years later that he was given a chance to play for India in the tri-series in Zimbabwe, a tournament in which the senior players opted out, allowing the selectors to test out the bench-strength. Having taken 34 wickets in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy to help his team defend the title, he expressed an intention to add a few more yards of pace in a bid to make a comeback into the national side.
