  Commentary

  • So, the series is nicely poised at 1-1. The teams will meet for the decider in Hyderabad on Friday. See you then.

  • Jason Behrendorff (MoM): It's not too often I get in front of the cameras, so I need to work on that. Nice to get one over in the first T20I but the experience was good nonetheless. I have been working hard to play for Australia and am loving every minute of it. The whole Indian team is a class team and feels nice to take a few wickets and get ourselves to a great start. Can't wait to do it again at Hyderabad.

  • David Warner: Credit to our bowler for taking the early wickets. Behrendorff as got the height, the bounce. He and Zampa bowled really well. (On sending Henriques at No.3) This strategy I use at the Sunrisers Hyderabad as well. Looked like an English type of wicket, the ball holding up a bit. I am looking forward to the next game in Hyderabad.

  • Player of the match - Jason Behrendorff

  • Virat Kohli: Not the performance we wished for. Australia were much better than us. I don't think we were good enough with the bat. As we mentioned during the toss, the dew was a big factor after first six-seven overs. It's the attitude that matters the most in sports and that's what the whole team embraces. You need to give 120% on the field in such conditions. I thought Behrendorff bowled in good areas. Credit to him, he bowled a good spell up front. He definitely had a top class performance today.

  • Though Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah provided India with early breakthroughs, a target of 119 was never going to be enough. For once, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, the wrist spinners, failed to impress as Mosies Henriques (62*) and Travis Head (48*) saw Australia home with 27 balls to spare. And with this win, Australia have levelled this three-match series 1-1.

  Full commentary

  • So, India 118 all out. Who would thought that?! Behrendorff rocked the innings with the wickets of Rohit and Kohli in the first over and it was all downhill for India thereafter. Jadhav played a got hand of 27 but India needed a good partnership. If Behrendorff struck in the initial overs, Zampa removed Dhoni and Jadhav to ensure there is no flourish from the middle order. With a target of 119, you have to back the chasing side. Stay tuned, we will be back in 15 minutes or so when Australia try to nail that down and level the series.

J Behrendorff to V Kohli, OUT, And a huge appeal this time, and Kohli has been given out. Big wicket for Australia. Coming back to the delivery, once again it was a length ball around middle and leg, Kohli tried to flick it, looked like an inside edge and Behrendorff caught it. Kohli is discussing it with Dhawan. A long discussion. Not sure what they are discussing though. If there's an inside edge, that's out. If no edge, he should go for a review. Replays confirm an inside-out was there. • Time for national anthems.

  • Virat Kohli: The pitch looks good to play on. The only thing is dew. We would have done the same. Now we are batting first, we need to put some good runs on the board. We need to repeat the things every time we step onto the field. We don't want to be complacent and give the opposition any chance. The stadium is beautiful, it's packed house. We are playing with the same XI.

  • David Warner: We are gonna have bowl first. It is a new wicket, maybe a little bit soft underneath. Stoinis comes in place of Dan Christian. No other changes.

  • Australia Won the Toss & Elected to Field

  • Pitch report: A little bit of dampness in the wicket. Something there for seamers definitely, says Sunil Gavaskar. He also says that 150 would be a par score on this wicket.

  • “We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, ‘Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore. It’s too much.’ And I’ll say, ‘No, it isn’t!'” That was Donald Trump ahead of the presidential elections in USA. If only Virat Kohli had warned the Indian public accordingly, writes Nisha Shetty.

  • Indian cricket is headed to Promised Land but fans are getting bored

The extended dominance of Kohlis men and Australias lack of fight have left fans in Ranchi yearning for competition

  • Here's Nisha Shetty's preview:

  • Australia need to rethink batting strategy to stay alive

Nothing has worked for the visiting side on tour so far but they would do well to draft in Stoinis for their must win second T20I against India

  • Hello and welcome to the second Twenty20 International between India and Australia from Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. India won the rain-affected first game in Ranchi by nine wickets. Australia would like to win here and make it one-all before the teams move to Hyderabad for the final match.

  Full commentary
