  Commentary

  • That's it from Game 1 of the day. Game 2 coming up, in the other tab.

  • Player of the match - Manish Pandey

  • Manish Pandey held his nerve in a tense chase of 169. After his 110-run stand with Yusuf Pathan revived Kolkata from a precarious 21 for 3, Delhi fought back in the death overs, only for the unflappable Pandey to shatter their dreams. Defending just nine in the final over, Amit Mishra conceded just one run and had Chris Woakes stumped in the first three balls. When strike came back to the in-form Pandey, he struck a lusty blow over long on to end the suspense as Kolkata won by four wickets and a ball to spare on Monday (April 17). Rishad D'Souza reports. The full report coming up on our site very soon.

  • Delhi Daredevils: Sanju Samson, Sam Billings, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Angelo Mathews, Chris Morris, Pat Cummins, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Zaheer Khan (capt).

  • Gautam Gambhir: We would have bowled first here as we are a good chasing side. We know that they are a good bowling side. We back our batting and hopefully, we will be able to restrict them and chase it down later. Every game is important. It's always fun coming back to home. You don't prepare in a different way. Nathan Coulter-Nile comes in for Trent Boult. We expect this to bounce a bit more and he is someone who can bowl fast and hit the deck hard.

  • Zaheer Khan: We’re going to have a bat first. Batting first has been working for us so hopefully, we’ll continue the momentum. There will be a decent bounce, but have to put runs on the board. The wicket is hard and firm, the other night it was on the slower side so we’re hoping for some bounce. We have two changes: Mohammed Shami is in for Nadeem and Corey Anderson is unwell so Angelo Mathews comes in.

  • IPL 10 Match 18 Delhi v Kolkata

The home side has been at its explosive best and must fire on all cylinders again to get the better of Gautam Gambhir amp Co

  • In terms of confidence, Delhi will be feeling good ahead of their next challenge, but they will have to plan well against Gautam Gambhir and Co, who have hardly changed the core of their team from previous editions and have been clinical in winning three of their four games so far.

  Full commentary
