  Commentary

  • Rohit Sharma: Smart performance from the bowlers. To restrict a batting like that was a great effort. Conditions weren't that easy for the bowlers, there was dew, wasn't easy for spinners and fast bowlers to bowl. They've done it on many occasion, it was about coming out and doing it again. We have to find ways to take wickets. It's one thing to talk about it, but they came out and did it. We bat deep, we've not had that depth in a long time. The middle order hasn't batted much in the past few months, but today the way Manish and Dinesh Karthik closed out the game was crucial. We'll look not to change too many things in the coming games.

  • Thisara Perera: First of all, have to say this is not a 150-wicket, this is a beautiful wicket to bat on. We couldn't execute in the middle period. Today we were 30-40 runs behind. First six overs we couldn't execute the bowling plans.

  • Shardul Thakur (MoM): Very happy to receive this award, always dreamt of winning India a game. There was nervousness, not pressure. I love challenges and this has been a challenge with the seniors rested.

  • Player of the match - Shardul Thakur

  • That's as comfortable as you like. India didn't really have to break a sweat even though Dhawan and Rohit flopped. Manish Pandey, Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik did the job for the visitors as India strengthened their bid for qualification to the final of the tri-series.

  Full commentary

  • That's a great comeback for India after being put under the pump by Kusal Mendis early on. The fast bowlers and spinners alike took bit of a pasting, but they came back strongly with timely wickets. Thisara Perera sparkled briefly but withered equally soon. The Indian bowlers did well to strike regularly even on the wet surface, where it was difficult to grip the ball. That said, there was support off the surface and Sri Lanka will look to exploit that.

S Thakur to S Lakmal, 1 leg bye, fast outside off, goes for a big swing and misses, they've appealed for obstructing the field, Lakmal ran the bye and India feel he might have changed his line of running to block the run out. • Game has been reduced to 19-overs-a-side. Upto four bowlers can bowl their full quota of four overs, others can bowl three.

  • Thisara: Our batters our doing really well, our bowlers couldn't execute bowling plans in the previous game. We have a good bowling line up, hopefully we can do something. Suranga Lakmal in for Dinesh Chandimal.

  • Rohit: We'll field first. Since there's been rain, we want to have a target. We've seen in this tournament the wicket gets better later in the game. With a little bit of rain around it's better to have a score in front. We spoke at length about what we need to do, we've understood their strengths and weaknesses and we'll look to exploit their weakness. KL Rahul comes in for Rishabh Pant.

  • 19:25 PM: Looks like a fairly stubborn drizzle now. More covers are coming on. It's getting a little frustrating now.

  • 19:01 PM: The drizzle has become steadier. Not the greatest news but word still is that we should get the toss soon. Stay with us.

Without suspended Chandimal Sri Lanka need their bowling to rediscover some bite to avoid falling behind

  • News from the ground is that there was bit of shower but they are taking the covers off. So we'll have the toss for you shortly.

  • Good evening folks! Welcome to our coverage of the fourth match of the Nidahas T20I tri-series as Sri Lanka face off with India for the second time in this tournament. To refresh your memory, India lost that game after a Kusal Perera blitz. Sri Lanka have since gone on to lose against Bangladesh, while India won against them. So the tournament is wide open and a win here will be much-desired.

  Full commentary
