Yere Goud and S Arvind have been signed up as new coaches by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, it was announced on Friday (June 8).
Arvind, a former Karnataka player, announced retirement earlier this year and is expected to take up the mantle of bowling coach, while Goud is likely to take up batting coach duties.
In a 17-year long first-class career, Goud scored over 7000 runs at an average of 45.53 for Karnataka and Railways before hanging his boots in 2012.
Arvind, the left-arm seamer, played a total of 56 first-class games for Karnataka to pick up 186 wickets at a brilliant average of 23.94. His performances at the domestic level also earned him a call up to the Indian T20I team in 2015 for one match against South Africa. Arvind also enjoyed a stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The duo will take over from PV Shashikanth and GK Anil Kumar, who took up the roles only in 2017, guiding Karnataka to the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 final and the Vijay Hazare Trophy title in the same season.
