    Profile

Pradeep Sangwan came to notice when playing for Delhi at the Under-15 level, taking 31 wickets from six matches and in the final against Kolkata, coming at No. 11, scoring 63 runs. His utility with the willow might have been something he picked up from Virender Sehwag, who hailed from the same town and who he regularly bowled at the nets to. That experience had educated him early on that “loose balls mean lost balls.” He also learnt to keep batsmen guessing and adapt to even flat tracks as 33 wickets in his debut season of the Ranji Trophy in 2007-08 illustrated. That included a nine-wicket haul in the final against Uttar Pradesh that helped Delhi win. He followed it up with a rout of the South African side during the group stage of the 2008 Under-19 World Cup, taking 5 for 44. Sangwan was the first U-19 draft pick in the IPL auctions of 2008, going to his home franchise Delhi Daredevils. When the teams were re-formed in 2011, he was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders.
